|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Were two or three walk unders and walk over noted, but no significant issues. Several of the bog bridges through some real muddy areas are on their last legs. Real balancing act and luckily no missteps. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Was plenty of water today for dogs. Few difficult sections involving steep ledges and iron rungs. One long trail hiker had his German Shepard with him and commented it was difficult for his canine companion in those sections |
|
 | Bugs: |
Ideal day for all flying critters but no issues at all. |

 | Comments: |
I was misled by a lot of what I read. Planned on an out and back to Abraham thinking about 12.5 miles. More like 16-17 miles, so with late start I called it a day at Ellen. About 10.6 miles and this took much longer than I anticipated. Granted trails were very wet and muddy and just seemed to go on forever. Fine viewing at the ski lift areas of Mad River and Sugarbush and some of the back country ski trails. Very enjoyable hike overall, great woodlands. |
