We took the Sherburne trail up to Pico camp and then to Pico summit. Nice walk through hardwoods, easy grades until the camp then a bit steeper. Good views from the summit. Loved the walk over to Killington on the LT/AT-- very flat through mixed woods, LOTS of trillium blooming. Only saw one other hiker after Pico until Killington summit which had local sunbathers. Still much less crowded than Mansfield. Great views. Ski trails were mostly dry with a few spots wet enough to cause one of our party to fall. Nice hike! |
