Hiked the long trail from Middlebury gap to Lincoln gap as I am hiking the long trail in sections and also started to do the NE 100 highest so this stretch was perfect for both. Start of trail was a bit steep at first then became a little bit of a rollercoaster. I did run into wet rocks from the last rain or from the dew on the way up to Breadloaf. The trail leading up to Breadloaf was steep but once done with that part it flattens out and you have a nice walk to the peak. From there to Wilson it was not as steep but a bit easier as you are already up in elevation and great to have the Emily Proctor shelter in between with a good flow of water. Both peaks were not the best for views if you want a view I recommend to hike a bit further north to Roosevelt for a good view. |
