Temperature in the 40s, clouds gave way to sunshine by noon. Monorail started at around 2800 ft (~0.2 miles past the bench) . A handful of icy spots (manageable) toward the top. If you forgot your micro-spikes, you could make it to the top, but your life is much easier with them on...especially on the descent. A fair amount of leaves, but luckily they were dry today.
Nice day hike that gets your heart rate going. 7 miles RT from the lower parking lot. 5 hours including breaks if you're in reasonably good shape. |
