Comments
Comments: Good solid snowshoe track to Taft Lodge. Above Taft the Profanity route to the Chin (4,393') is currently drifted in big time and will take real effort to break out. There's a track to Eagle Pass, where ski tracks head toward Hell Brook. The traverse under Mansfield's east face to Profanity is clogged for now with snow loaded fir tops. The Chin was untracked and looked like a serious undertaking from here today. Threaded up through giant sastrugi to the Adam's Apple (4,060')without much trouble. Great views of Bear Head, Lake of the Clouds, & the Chin.Winds steady 20-25 mph, temp 20F. Going down take care not to lose the trail amidst all the snowboard tracks.
