Comments
Comments: Good snowshoe track to the open summit of Burnt Rock (3,168'). A bit slippery near the top, and the winter trail follows the cliff edge more than in summer. Trees are heavily snow loaded on the ridge and west slope, sometimes like tunneling. The Long Trail north of the summit toward the Allens and Camel's Hump is deep and unbroken. Same is true of the L.T. south of the ridge jct. w/ Hedgehog Brook Trail.
Snowshoes were clumping up pretty bad today! Summit temp 34F, light wind, in & out of the clouds. One fine little mountain.
