Comments
Comments: There is slush at the lower elevations and snow at the upper elevations. We used snow shoes most of the day. There were some drifts and in spots the trail was covered but it was easy to follow until we got north of Ellen. We stayed on the trail but most people must simply pop out onto the ski trails and follow it instead of staying on the trail (the ski trail runs parallel to the hiking trail). We dropped down onto the trail at the snow fence but soon lost any semblance of a trail - we followed the blazes and merged back with the heavily-used section of the trail just north of the ski area at the "ski area boundary" marker.
