Comments
Comments: My thoughts for the day were to ascend the Long Trail, take Profanity Trail, then rejoin the Long Trail for a traverse to the Chin. I took Profanity, but lost the trail almost immediately. After post holing around, finally gave up and regained the Long Trail.

Continued to ascend the Long Trail to the Adam's Apple/Hellbrook hub and lost the Long Trail at that point. Looked around briefly. Nothing. Descended back to Profanity and tried again, but could not stay the trail. Hiked down to Taft Lodge and had lunch, then back down to Rte 108. Nice day! Temps on upper reaches of Long Trail were about 17 degrees with an approx 15 mile wind. Lots of blowing snow. Meet around 25 hikers coming up, as I descended the trail. Traction was great with the new snow. New Snow past Taft Lodge looked to be 4-6 inches.. nice!
