 | Comments: |
Bring good traction devices. Hedgehog Brook Trail is packed solid, good for light traction. At the ravine where the trail climbs quickly to the ridge I put on crampons, definitely made things easier from here up. Some steep ice patches.
L.T. is well-defined to the summit of Burnt Rock (3,168'), with a snowshoe trough heading north from there. L.T. south is untracked. Snowshoes needed for travel beyond Burnt Rock, breakable crust.
Temps around 30F, winds about 5-10 mph on top. Blue sky, hazy views to the Whites & ADK's. Had the hill to myself. Finished every month of the year for this mtn. today.
