Nice track all the way up. I snowshoed to the top in some fluffy squall accumulation, but microspikes are fine- used them on descent. Trees are becoming more snow loaded on the upper slopes. Iced rocks on the summit area.
Hiked past the top south on the LT to the base of the headwall with thoughts of continuing the traverse to Wind Gap, but with drifting and snowy trees the route finding was a little more than I was into so I went back up and over, back down Monroe. Currently only this and Burrows are broken out, no tracks on Dean or Bamforth Ridge.
Summit temp 19F @ 12:45 pm, winds 20mph or so at the very top, otherwise light. |
