Comments
Comments: 2"-4" new snow over a pretty icy trail. Microspikes from the start, pretty significant ice, both exposed & snow covered, from about halfway up. Ground underneath is frozen. Went up over untracked freshies from last night, packed out now from about a dozen I saw out as the day went on. Just about everyone had either crampons, microspikes, or stabilicers and I was glad mine were sharp! Upper scrambles were a little trickier than usual with some hard water ice here & there.

Summit(3,539')temp 10F @ 11:15 a.m., no wind, crystal visibility to the Whites, Greens, & Adirondaks. Merry Christmas !
