The mountain has received about 2 feet of snow since I was here on New Year's Day. Skiers and my snowshoes have a smooth track to the Alpine trail jct. Above the jct. the trail was drifted with 6-10" from overnight, and this will probably be the case again tomorrow. Trees heavily rimed and snow encrusted. Winds were 30+ mph and on the rise at the summit, temp. 6F.
visibility 15-20feet. I met an ascending skier who was almost to the summit, most folks only skin up to the clearing.
-Please use snowshoes or ski's ! |
