From the parking area, we follow the logging Rd. (bike trail) until it vanished into the woods. Justin and I then began our whack, hiking on and off bike trails and old woods roads and skidder paths. The trails petered out about 1/4 mile from the summit. We stayed on the ridge, making sure we didn't stray to the east and have to confront the ledges. The summit was an easy find, signed in, and headed back the way we came up. When we ran into bike trails we followed them down to the parking area. It was a much easier hike than was expected. Be sure to sign in at the welcome center and sign the waiver sheet. |
