Trails: Waterbury Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Thursday, September 1, 2011
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Loomis Hill Road was one-way traffic just before reaching trailhead. Stowe side of road (Sweet Road-Waterworks Road) I didn't attempt for looked like I might have bottomed out on section worked on recently.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Minor crossings on wet rocks
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 2 nasty blowdowns within 10 minutes of trailhead. Another up higher taken care of. Trail above the waterfalls area got damaged quite badly. Lots of nice rock work had foundations under them partially washed out. Some trail washed away leaving several small potholes with 3-5 inch puddles. The equivalent of a trail eroding over a 2-3 year period except in one day. Sad.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Might be difficult scramble for dogs near top.
Bugs
Bugs: None

Comments
Comments: Up and back on Waterbury Tr.. Sad finding damage probably caused by "running brook like conditions" on trail Sunday. Most stone work still solid for now but definetly weakened. Other hikers coming from White Rock Mt. and Middlesex side said trails OK with a couple blowdowns.
