 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in great condition. Some new puncheon and lot of cleared out blowdowns on Skyline Tr.. I believe Alex and crew were headed here after working on Elmore about a month ago. Thanks to them and whoever else for all the appreciated trail work. Mileage distances have varied greatly in the past in this area depending on what you read. I got a copy of the Day Hiker's Guide to Vermont {6th edition} today and it seems like info in this edition is accurate on distances. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Never seen a dog on the Skyline Tr. or a human for that matter. |
|
 | Bugs: |
Not too bad. Some flies along ridge. |

 | Comments: |
Pleasantly surprised with how nice the Skyline Tr. conditions were. Helps with it being dry obviously; but lots of hard work done up here on a seldom used trail. Only sections a little rough were a few spots coming down the Hogback Tr. towards Stowe Pinnacle. Not an open ridge but there are a few nice lookouts. Hunger and Stowe Pinnacle both have excellent views. For solitude hit the Skyline Tr. 3 or 4 trips up there; 0 hikers met. 3 miles between trailheads if using the upper end of the Loomis Hill Rd. otherwise a lot further. |
