Comments
Comments: Monroe trail bootable. Dean is a postholed mess but I snowshoed it okay. Route up Camel's Hump from Wind Gap was broken out and I could see hikers on the cliffs. All tracks end at Montclair Glen, trees get more snow laden and L.T. harder to follow as you go up. There are blazes and I lost and found it a few times before it disappeared completely. There are cliffs to skirt, open areas w/ great views north to Camel's Hump & Mansfield. You can tell the summit by the eastern clearing, sign was crusted over. Presi's, Franconias & Moosilauke very sharp and white. The one mile from Montclair took almost two hours up, only 40 min. down., pretty rugged bushwacking but fantastic to be out. 12F and windy on top.
