Elder hill rd was plowed and very well sanded up to about 100 yards before the trailhead (where the alternative parking is)even where it wasn’t plowed still only had a few inches and was easily passable, even in a two wheel drive car. The trailhead lit was unplowed but just plow through easily. We were pleasantly surprised how easy it was. |

Apparently there is a dog (I think it’s a black lab) from a local residence that likes to follow and hike with hikers to the summit of Abe, the owners would like you to discourage this. Tell him to stop and go home. |
