Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Gate closed off Rte 12 so access is lot off Beach Road about 1/4 mile further south on Rte 12. Lot hasn't been plowed but has been packed down by much usage and room for 10-12 cars before one would have to venture into deeper snow.

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None via this route.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One blowdown on Fire Tower Tr. about 12" above snowpack could be an issue for skiers/boarders with an 18" snow covering it. Will be removed Wed. or next weekend if still there.

Comments
Comments: Narrow, hard packed trail trailhead to tower. Light traction worked fine today; if warmer temps like yesterday one may want snowshoes. Very little ice yet this season. Ridge Tr. has seen little traffic and by the looks of trail at each end I'm not sure any choice of footwear would be enjoyable. 5 days until winter even though we've had about a month of it already. Happy hiking everyone!
