Hadn't been on the Healdville Trail for a while. Microspikes were very helpful for the top half where there was 2-4 inches of crusty snow. Bottom half either bare ground with leaves or spotty patches of snow. Surprised to have the trail to ourselves the entire hike, unusual. The fire tower steps were very slippery coated with uneven ice chunks. 4 sizeable blowdowns, 2 near the top and 2 within 20 minutes walk of the trailhead. |
