Sections of the Long Trail are in really bad maintenance with ruts, overgrowth and downfalls. |

This is not a popular hike -- I saw only 8 other hikers all day. I think the reasons are:
- the trailhead is remote from urban areas (a long drive)
- access roads are primitive (dirt and gravel)
- trail maintenance is poor in places
- limited views |
