Bugs
Bugs: Gnats were bothersome all day (around my ears and hairline) and esp on outdoor picnic table at summit visitors center where I reapplied, then doused myself a 3rd time before the car.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Navy blue pants hanging from tree about half way up on Upper Summit Tr. Hmm.

Comments
Comments: Great views today despite a little haze. Loved the visitors center’s history exhibits, old flagstones from the summit inn’s fireplace, and second story viewing platforms N and S. And where else to you find a chapel, flush toilets and paper towels at a summit? Despite lower Summit Tr being a logging road to the spring, its relentless climb in today’s heat had me sucking wind. Stopped to see the Mr. Barbo gravestone on the way down which was amusing as was the barefoot hiker. The Dad among us enjoyed his day getting #73 of NEHH.
