Comments
Comments: Started around Noon. Light flurries; 25 degrees F at start with a bit of a chill in the air. Well-packed and defined trail all the way to the top. There was enough fluffy snow covering packed/icy bits to make for very good traction with Microspikes or Hillsounds, and so a comfortable and smooth ascent. Lots of what looked like tracks from hare and other smaller critters. Layered up at Hut Clearing as there was a temp drop and light wind. Saw 3 young hikers coming down from summit slipping and sliding as they were bare-booting, but enjoying themselves. Light traction recommended. Summit was with little visibility, but breathtakingly beautiful. Easy hike down. Lovely woods. Snow got a bit heavier and covered tracks of hikers coming up. Three hours round trip. Nice little workout.
