|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Dixie had an issue going up a chimney section near the summit. She just needed a little boost. Had no issues scurrying back down for a stick she forgot. Also needed a boost her second time up. Could be tough with bigger, less sure footed dogs. |

Got swarmed a bit at the summit, but few were biting |

Long Trail South from 108
Trail was in good condition lower. There was a sign saying it was closed until May 20th, but it didn't stop several other people and it was a long ride to the trailhead. If you are reading this, just be aware.
There was an unstable remains of a monorail in patches higher up in the trees. Tried going up Profanity Trail, but post holed a few times and tweaked my knee so we turned around a little past the bridge. Trail lived up to its name and it was the flat section. Dixie didn't like the steep chimney section, but a quick boost got her up it. Unfortunately she left her stick at the bottom, so she clambered back down while I was taking a pic of the view from the top so I had to climb down and give her another boost. Bare booted all the way up and down. Could have thrown microspikes on for a few sections, but honestly it wouldn't have been for longer than 20 feet or so before you are back on bare rock.
Saw a couple fellas heading up in boat shoes and button downs. Don't do that. |
