Started out this morning at 8:30am with my buddy. Lower portion of trail is dry with few mud spots. About halfway up trail turns to boilerplate ice all the way to the top. Microspikes needed and I had instep crampons on. Lots of unprepared people passed on the way down without traction or backpacks (spring brings out the out of staters and noobies). Beautiful day with warm temps and low wind. Out by 2pm for 5 and 1/2 total. |
