On the trail at 4:45 for a sunrise hike. Beautiful clear day with only moderate wind at the summit. Lower trail is dry. The steep upper half is covered in slick ice flows. Microspikes highly advised - they worked great. My hiking partner made it using only ski poles on less slick ground off the trail, but not recommended. Passed one group descending the Long Trail luge track to the clearing with no traction. Wow! |
