 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The unpaved section of Lincoln Gap Road is taking a beating as a result of the thaw. It is still passable but the mud-tracks are getting deep.
The road through Lincoln Gap is officially closed for the winter but there is no gate and no snow or ice on the road. I drove easily to the TH in the Gap (several other cars were driving through as I was getting ready in the morning).
It is disappointing to see how much trash is scattered around the parking lot. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
A few minor crossings in the area of the Battell shelter are all easy to deal with. Just a bit of ice here and there - all avoidable. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
I removed a bunch of debris and half a dozen minor blowdowns. One blowdown remains - approx. 1/4 mile from the Lincoln Gap TH.
One of the "Stay on the Trail" signs near Mt. Abraham summit (to the south) is down. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
With no snow and hardly any ice the trails are in good shape for the dogs. Cinnilla and Shamus had a fine day - no trouble anywhere.
There is water in several places to the south of Mt. Abraham. Between Mt. Abraham and Mt. Ellen there are a couple of puddles with decent drinking water. |

 | Comments: |
With hardly any ice anywhere this was an easy bareboot all the way.
The lift at Sugarbush South is in operation and at least one trail is open. |
