Comments
Comments: At from River Rd. to VT Rte. 12. The AT was drier than I expected. The only blowdown was soon after the first height of the land, before crossing the power line. The trail is in excellent shape with hardly a muddy spot. It was great to hike in sneakers and with only a summer pack and minus snowshoes or other traction devices. Question: I noticed that all maple trees had withered little leaves, which provided no shades on a very hot spring day. Were they sprayed to fight some disease??? This hike finally completed my AT from the Mass. border to Maine.
