The access road is still open all the way to the summer parking lot (where the AT crosses Mad Tom Notch Road). |

There are no water crossings. |

Basically in good condition. There are a few blowdowns but these are easily crossed and left on purpose as part of the "wilderness experience". |

A small compass is lying on the rocks just before the Styles Peak lookout ledge. |

The shorter hike just to Styles Peak is all that is needed to get the great view. |
