 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The parking lot holds a number of cars, but still might be crowded on a popular weekend. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All good, including one crossing on a sideways steel I-beam which sure impressed me. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
One blowdown on the Green Mountain Trail. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
I was surprised that two hikers and their small dog made this whole hike. They were doing the loop in the reverse direction, so we met twice (and the dog seemed to be doing better than I was!). |

 | Bugs: |
Not a one. |

 | Comments: |
The initial trail section is popular for three reasons: it is a section of the Appalachian Trail, it is a section of the Long Trail, and it goes (in just two miles) to famous Little Rock Pond. The round-trip hike over Green Mountain is a bit longer (7 miles) and far less popular. |
