Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: There were 3 cars, counting us, in the parking lot when we got there about 10:30 AM. When we returned there were a few more. Room for several more. It appeared that the lot has suffered a couple of break-ins in the past, witnessed by the broken glass in a couple of areas. Good warning not to leave anything of value visible. Also someone let their large dog (I hope it was a dog) drop a jobby very recently and the flies were thick in that area of the lot. This should be buried as you would deal with it for a human, right? Or packed out.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Only very minor crossings on this trail, anything serious is bridged.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few stepover blowdowns. The water bars could use some cleaning out. We met some trail maintenance workers heading up as we were descending early afternoon. Our thanks go out to them.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: See the Parking/Road Access notes for a dog comment. Also, there is a sign posted that the area is thick with porcupines and this should serve as a warning to people who hike with dogs. We did encounter a couple of dogs with their human companions. The dogs were unleashed, but well-behaved.
Bugs
Bugs: The parking lot had some deer flies and mosquitoes, as well as the aforementioned flies visiting the dog calling card. I don't think those were the biting kind, though. And the summit had some active black flies which the slight wind could not keep fully at bay.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A bindingless snowboard is lying on the summit and is turning into something to autograph for anyone who brings a sharpie.

Comments
Comments: Beautiful day with the Fig Bag and Massage Lady. ML had some stomach issues but completed the trip in brisk time nonetheless. Great views.
