Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: One car at Taylor Valley Rd (coming from Vershire Center, the sign for Taylor Valley Rd is missing, but it's the road across from Mountain school) and on TVR when you see the sign "DOGS" - watch out, they are prob. about to chase your car! A second car parked on Middlebrook Rd. (pretty easy to find)
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Leaves - Significant/Slippery
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: One stream crossing after Van Dyke Rd. required going up/down stream (or just take your shoes off as it's only about shin deep....but it's too wide of a stream for most people to jump across)
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Overall, the trail is in good shape. A fair number of blowdowns here and there. One tree across trail in the recently logged area. Deep leaves make for some tricky footing in places. Some pricky bushes just waiting to attack your legs.....long pants might not be a bad idea right now.....It is very well blazed and very easy to follow. We did get a little confused behind the school but a lady showed us the way to go (basically walking behind the school to the fenced in horses that you just walked by on 113)
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Trail passes a few houses, most dogs had the electric invisible fence collars on. The trail is within "range" of one pup (behind Westshire elementary school) but he's quite friendly. Nice trail for dogs, not too much water but otherwise easy walking.
Bugs
Bugs: one tick..........NO OTHER BUGS!!

Comments
Comments: Wonderful day to enjoy this large piece of the CRT. 15.2 miles total from Flagpole Hill to Middlebrook Rd. The views from Flagpole Hill were impressive (Killington to Camel's Hump on one side and Washington to Smarts on the other) Lots of places along this section to take in the views. Looking forward to hiking the rest of this little gem!
