Comments
Comments: It was a beautiful but cold day. First 3/4 mile of trail packed out nice but then there is a confusing area where trail has been rerouted. It goes to the left, away from the river instead of straight ahead due to old hurricane damage. Remainder of the Bucklin trail is now nicely packed out. Long trail meets up with Coopers cabin where a nice snowboard dude offered us some "substance" and we politely declined. Killington spur started out as deep snow drift but then the last .1 mile was very steep, covered in ice and light powder and could have used crampons but kept the MSR snowshoes on. Some might feel more comfortable having an ice axe in this area. Wore snowshoes the whole day. This hike completed our NE67 4000 footers (for me and Joanie).
