| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The winter-parking lot and the last 200 yards of the road (over a small bridge) are extremely icy - literally like a skating-rink. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Ice - Breakable Crust, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction, Traction |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Some streams are bridged (ice) but most are open. All are easy to cross. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
One significant blowdown but is has a nice herd-path around it. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Very icy trails (see comments below) but dogs used to ice should be able to handle it. Most sections can be bypassed through the woods, if necessary. The section shortly before the Alpine Tr. jct. is the most difficult and has substantial ice-floats. |

| Comments: |
Icy trails everywhere. At lower elevation with intermittent bare, more muddy sections. At higher elevation with some minimal snow-coverage.
Light traction should be sufficient but for the last mile to the summit more substantial "foot-tools" may be preferred. |
