Parked at Mt Ellen base area of Sugarbush before ski area opened. Winter shuttle runs every half hour between Ellen and Lincoln Peak base areas until 4:30pm, so plenty of time for a leisurely hike to Ellen and Abe and back for the shuttle. |

Saturday was the most gorgeous winter day imaginable and we took full advantage of it with this hike. We got permission ahead of time from the Sugarbush ski patrol to use the ski trails up and down (no pass required). More details in the blog post (link below). Using this route makes this hike a very manageable winter distance (~ 9 miles). The long trail between Ellen and Abe was in good shape and quite easy to follow the whole way. |
