Peaks Case Mountain, CT
Trails
Trails: Various trails
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Wednesday, May 10, 2023
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Small lot can hold maybe a dozen cars. Mountain bikers use this area and from what I saw, tend to ride in groups making parking either easy of hard.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None that were not easily walked over or bridged.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: In most sections, the Gray/yellow, Yellow/Red, Pink and Shenipsit trails are easy to follow. In a couple of spots, turns and junctions need to be watched as there is heavy mountain bike traffic that in places make junctions hard to determine where to go.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw none but they are allowed.
Bugs
Bugs: Starting to come out, used bug spray for just the 2nd time this year.

Comments: Case/Lookout Mountain
Various from Line Street Lot

First time parking on Line Street and doing this popular peak. It was a Wednesday, however, only saw people at the view and a couple of bicyclists near Line Street and also several getting ready for an late afternoon ride. Markings are not as clear on other trails like the Blue and White so watch for junctions.
