| Water Crossing Notes: |
No problems today with the Zealand River crossing on the Trestle Trail, but in high water I would probably avoid it |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in good shape - some mud on the Sugarloaf Trail before the split but not too bad with all the recent rain |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Hannah had an easy day - no issues with the footing and cool weather. Some dogs may not like the long ladder just below the summit of Middle Sugarloaf. |

| Comments: |
Great fall hike - comfortable temps and still a bit of color left on the trees. VERY windy on the summit of Middle Sugarloaf - probably sustained 30-40mph, not as bad on North Sugarloaf. Saw a few people on the trail but we had the summit of North to ourselves for a good 20 minutes. Not many views towards the big mountains today but we were treated to a spectacular rainbow from the sun and constant mist/light rain from the south. If you only have a few hours to hike, this is definitely one to consider! |
