Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossings running well, but easily rock-hopped.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Couple blowdowns on Webster-Jackson that could use some tending. One has a muddy herd path bypass because it was blocking 90% of the trail. Webster-Jackson Trail is quite eroded. Really needs some erosion control work. Webster Cliff Trail in good shape. However, numerous bog bridges are starting to retreat below the mud's surface.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a couple, not a bad hike for them, just a few ledge scrambles near the Jackson summit to contend with, most dogs should have little trouble. Plenty of water on this day in lots of run-off spots and seeps.
Bugs
Bugs: None

Comments
Comments: Saw a moose (male, small rack) ambling along the railroad tracks by the parking lot as we readied up.

We got an even later start (~10AM) today, but with the forecast for some clearing and no rain until late night, we weren't too concerned. Gray Jays up on Jackson, one tried numerous times to grab our food as it was half-way to mouth. Solid views with a high cloud deck, light winds but chilly. Some clouds wisping over Eisenhower, Monroe and Washington.

Decided to take the slightly longer but more gentle way down (versus going to Webster and down, or just down) via the hut. Stopped in at the hut for a short rest then carried on out.

Gibb's Falls flowing nicely.

Much of the foliage is browning up and/or on the ground in the notch. A huge amount of leaves fell over the weekend.

Saw a good number of people on this hike, but not a crazy amount considering. 2-3 dozen total between the start and Jackson (many coming down), and about the same number from there to the road, not counting those at the hut. Leaf peepers all over the road, but not slowing things in Crawford Notch too much.
