Water Crossing Notes: Some rockhops. Absolute misery crossing the stream above the falls for a short person. This was on the way up. Coming back, the water level had subsided and it was easy. But going up we had to wade.

Lost and Found

Comments
Comments: Colors along the Zealand Trail were the most beautiful I have seen, no exaggeration! The off and on rain (and mist) enhanced their beauty. However, this rain made the Twinway portion of the trip an absolute misery. It was hard crossing the stream above the falls and the upper portions were a miserable, wet slog. Normally, the photos I see before going on these hikes fail to do justice. But this time, after walking through a long ankle-deep puddle, I saw the Zealand sign and just wanted to be back in the parking lot! Ended up staying at the hut. Gorgeous sunrise and nice walk out the next morning. And so ends #41.
