Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: When I parked at the Flat Mountain Pond Trailhead off Whiteface Intervale Road in Sandwich, the only other vehicle was a Proctor Academy bus, and it was still there when I returned more than 10 hours later.

Ferncroft had only 2 cars left when I got there around 5:15, but I was told it had been full earlier in the afternoon, and Flags on the 48 probably affected that.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: An easy crossing of the Whtieface River, which seemed low, just before the Flat Mountain Pond Trail joins the McCrillis Trail.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails all in decent shape, but the steep, rocky sections of the Walden Trail, in particular, were not suited to such a wet day - my bad.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Friendly pooches on the Passaconaway summit, as part of the FOT 48 crew.
Bugs
Bugs: None.

Comments
Comments: A great way to participate in Flags on the 48, but the bad weather limited views and made the Walden Trail, in particular, a tiring challenge.
