Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Rock hops.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No blowdowns, nicely brushed and water bars all working. A tremendous amount of good work has gone into adding new water bars and fixing old ones. This is a wet trail, with wet/mossy ledge and thin soils, mud patches and areas with lots of roots; all in all a tough trail to maintain as its popularity has increased. The upper section will be daunting trail work, but kudos to all that has been done by the TM.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Great dog trails with lots of water to drink and on lower Mt. Kinsman sippin n dippin brooks. Trails are mostly shaded as well. Some of the ledges on Kinsman might not be easy for a newbie small dog. We saw only one other dog; the blur known as Toby running with LRiz and companions.
Bugs
Bugs: None
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Another Sox loss: one forlorn Red Sox hat hanging on a branch on Kisnman Ridge.

Comments
Comments: A very nice autumn day for a favorite hike. There was a lot of water on the upper Mt. Kinsman and Kinsman Ridge trails on sloping ledge or root networks, which wasn't a problem today, but I thought of how the trail would have been in late Fall with ice instead of water; a chilling thought. I was surprised we saw so few hikers on all sections given the fine weather. It's too bad we didn't have this weather yesterday for FOT, but that hike was made special by the reasons for it and the wonderful 2 and 4 legged companions we had more than anything else.
