Comments
Comments: We were first up the Jewell and broke it out in 4-6 inches of fresh dry powder (with snowshoes) then a 16-person Boston-AMC holepuncher group came up behind us with some wearing snowshoes on their packs(!); they thanked us for breaking out the trail and clearing the overhead snow-covered branches ahead of them. Worked a fairly direct bushwack route from treeline to the Gulfside at Sphinx Col minimal reclimb on the return). This route should be all good til the next snow --- snowcover is minimal above treeline right now.
