Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Saturday, September 1, 2012
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: When we got back to the car the Jefferson Notch parking lot was full and overflowing as were every other trailhead parking lot that we saw today.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: There are none on this trail
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The trail is in good condition. There are no blowdowns. It could perhaps use a bit of brushing in the vicinity of the Link trail but all in all it was in good shape.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Thanks to yesterday's rain there was sufficient water here and there for hydration. Lauky had no problem at all on the ledges going up and coming down. I was told that one person had turned back because his Irish Setter couldn't get up. For the most part experienced trail dogies won't have a problem, but it could be a problem for some dogs. Just as it's a problem for some bipeds.
Bugs
Bugs: There were no bugs out today.
