Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: River was higher than expected but manageable. Second of three crossings was the most difficult. Glad I brought the Teva's (forgot the poles).
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The "bushwhack" trail to avoid the first two river crossings has become a well defined path. When descending North Twin Trail, the main trail connects with the bushwack trail at the second river crossing. Unfortunately, there is no trail sign across the river to point out where to cross, only a very faded, barely visible yellow blaze on a large boulder on the opposite side. The bushwhack trail is actually MORE prominent than the main trail here. I ran into someone who followed the entire bushwhack trail to the first crossing then crossed the river and circled back UP the trail over the first and second crossings again because he was unaware of the existence of a bushwhack trail. He thought he still needed to do two river crossings to get to the parking lot! Boy was he confused when I told him he was going the wrong way. Sure, you can be critical and say "Didn't he notice he was hiking upstream?" but, really, the trail at the second crossing should be marked a whole lot better for those who don't know about and/or aren't planning to "bushwhack" back to the parking lot to avoid the river crossings.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Great trail for dogs on a warm day. Lots of water and also shade until you get just below the North Twin summit.
Bugs
Bugs: Tiny black flies biting on the North Twin ledges thanks to mild winds.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Someone lost a silver metal water bottle labelled "Brisby" on North Twin Trail that's now hanging from a small red biner on a tree at eye level.

Comments
Comments: New summits for Blue and I. Awesome day! Hope to go back on a clearer day for even better views.
