Comments
Comments: Round and about way to Adams today. Randolph Path a long gradual ascent on a lovely trail bed for much of its length. Beautiful grassy section just before treeline and great views towards the castles. Israel Ridge Trail a sporty ascent on well placed rocks to the Gulfside jct where we were greeted by cool breezes..very refreshing!! Easy ascent to Adams from this side..we saw our first people of the day right at the summit, saw the usual hut traffic along the ridge .Quick drop down upper Air Line..we really took our time down Durand Ridge on this glorious day..rough trail but everything was dry today which made for easy going. Scar Trail a delight on pretty much pine needles the whole way. Once to here we saw no one else on the trails. Looped back up over the Durand Scar which offers a fine and unique view up the Valley Way and the slope of Madison..Glorious..Took a longer zigzaggy way down from there on the great footbeds of Beechwood and Sylvan ways.. Beware the amazing web of sugar tap runs on Beechwood Way..quite a site and a large operation. Topped off the day with an excellent swim. Real nice Presi day out with Becca on some lesser used trails
