|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Mt. Carrigain, NH|
||Sawyer River Road, Signal Ridge Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Saturday, August 18, 2012|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Gate still closed. Parking lot was full at midday. |
||Dry Trail |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||A little tricky crossing Carrigain Brook with
all the rain this week. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||Re-routes the first mile are great. You can still
see the storm damage all around. |
||A few but not a problem today. |
|Lost and Found:
||Came here in early May & turned around when I saw the road was still|
closed. After seeing storm damage & repair work done since, I'm glad I did. Rain this AM never reached Harts Location so hike was dry & lots of
blue sky at the summit. The material to rebuild the fire tower is
there & is scheduled to start Monday(8/20). This turned out to be a
good choice for my 48th 4000 footer because of the views from the
tower of the whole WMNF, identifying peaks and remembering other hikes.
A very rewarding hike.
