Comments
Comments: Until the thunderstorms arrived the trails were only damp. The upper sections of the Osseo Trail turned in to brooks and puddles in the torrential rain. The drainage ditches diverted water as intended. The staircases were not slippery in the rain. There was some pellet sized hail in today's storm. The Osseo Trail's good footing and generally moderate grade made it a good choice under adverse conditions.
Most of the hikers I met today camped overnight at Liberty Springs or somewhere along Franconia Ridge. Saw a male Spruce Grouse on Franconia Ridge between Flume and Liberty.
