Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Room for about 5 well parked cars in the main lot and 4 more just below it before one has to park out off Rt. 2. There was room for two more cars when we left today.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: none really
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail in good shape. The recent rains appear to have washed a lot of needles, dirt, small stones, etc. into the waterbars. Since they have been well maintained it was pretty easy to kick the debris out of the way to open them up. A few stretches washed some more and could use some more water bars.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Pepper had fun. It is a relatively dry trail but short, shaded and with easy slopes. Not too far up the trail there is a herd path to the brook for dippin, and a spring further up for drinking water. But shortly after that there is nothing. Met Louie a happy Lab type dog on his way to an overnighter on Cabot. I recall that much of that trail is dry so he may like the forecast rain.
Bugs

Comments
Comments: A forecast of summits in the clouds with a good chance of instability T storms made this seem like a good hike for the day, so we changed plans. Waumbek in thick fog is a great hike. But these summits were clear when we got there, others were clearing and we didn't see any signs of storms on the drive home or here. So we'll do today's peak tomorrow and probably get rained on.
