Parking/Access Road Notes: USFS lot had plenty of room when I drove in; when we left around 1 there was room for a handful of cars.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: rock hops
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in good shape.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Ammo is a great summer dog trail with all the water along it for sip n dips. Crawford after the hut ponds is dry, as is Tuckermans to the Crossover, and the Crossover. Bring water or get some on Washington. The boulders/rocks along these trails aren't as rough as most of the Presi peaks, but soft paw pad dogs might be better at home. We saw a Jack Russell on Tuckermans and two dogs on Ammo going down.
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies only at the second pond of the Cloud hut, and that was only because we stopped for Pepper to have a long sip n dip.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: There is a nice white hat with a Celtics Logo on it hanging at the short spur to the falls off Ammo.

Comments
Comments: This was a last minute choice based on the morning NOAA forecast, and it turned out to be good one, although Pepper would have liked to have had the clouds that were in the forecast, at least for Tuckermans & T Crossover. The temps were comfy, the humidity pretty good, with a nice breeze on top; so the hiking was fine and the views relatively clear. There were streams of people, many seemingly unprepared, hiking up as we were hiking down. I spaced out and gave wrong directions about Gem Pool to one group, but with water all along Ammo they won't go thirsty. On the drive home I-93 exiting the Notch south, we hit the heat and humidity.
