| Water Crossing Notes: |
The first water crossing on The Link has suffered severe erosion, probably due to hurricane Irene last Fall. Bushwack up-stream 10 yards for a MUCH easier crossing. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
On Caps Ridge Trail vegetation growing into path just before the first ledge. Thanks to whoever cleared the many blowdowns on the last part of The Link; that was A LOT of hard work. |

A few black flies and deer flies below treeline, but not bad at all. |

| Comments: |
Hiked it early, and was in fog from the second cap all the way to the end of the Castles. Visibility varied from 50 to 100 feet, so this trip was cairn to cairn. |
