Comments
Comments: mt. langdon trail in good condition as it initially follows old logging roads until eventually entering the woods at the wilderness boundary. the roads could possibly be confusing, but there are signs at most of the major forks directing you in the right direction and the footbed tells the tale pretty well also. a couple of sections were grassy and grown in so expect wet feet with recent rain. once past the wilderness boundary the trail is very well maintained and has one of the smoothest footbeds i can think of in the whites as it climbs steadily to oak ridge. a few wilderness issued stepover blowdowns of little consequence along the way. mt. parker trail also in good shape to the summit. with the humidity some of the rocks and ledges along the way were quite slick.

nice hike up to parker. very quiet in the woods with moments of what felt like total silence up high and on the summit. not even a whisper of wind. most of the views were socked in, but there was a nice look up the rocky branch valley and to iron mountain, maple mountain and other nearby lower summits. rain held off though the humidity had me soaking wet anyway. great to be out.
